I was recently asked to make a fox-inspired diaper cover and hat set – with this picture as my brief. Unfortunately, it didn’t link to any pattern as such, so I had to make up my own. As always, I scoured Pinterest for the perfect (free) pattern, to no avail.
So, to create EXACTLY what I want, I pieced together patterns from everywhere, to eventually create this for a tiny one-month old:
For the adjustable diaper cover, I used this pattern.
For the hat, I used the basic hat pattern from here.
For the ears (they had to be in the round), I used this ear pattern.
And for the tail, well, I made that up. I used double crochet in the round, using my discretion to increase and decrease to create the pointed fox tail.
And finished off with a chunky wooden button for that forest-y feel.
